Mark your calendars and bring a friend to the Carnegie Building on August 12 from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Join Petoskey District Library in partnership with Lynch & Sons Fund for the Arts for readings and a discussion on our Great Lakes and how to make them great again. Issues related to the care of our surrounding inland waters will be examined by four of Michigan's finest writers, naturalists, advocates, and experts: Jerry Dennis, Keith Taylor, Monica Rico, and Alison Swan. Open to the public at no charge, refreshments will be served.

Jerry Dennis is an American writer of nonfiction and short fiction. He is known for writing about the effect of human culture on the natural environment.

​Poet and writer Keith Taylor teaches in the undergraduate and graduate programs in creative writing at the University of Michigan, directs the Bear River Writer's Conference, and is the poetry editor for Michigan Quarterly Review.
